Zest4 Electric - Internet Account
Has anyone transferred their Zest4 service to their new Internet Account? I know you get reduced prices and view your account online, but is there any downside? I assume you are no longer able to telephone them about your account, but instead do everything via email.
I didn't get an email or letter from them about this new service, but just happened to come across it on their web-site.
And does anyone know when they are introducing a Gas tarrif?

I'm guessing from the deadly silence nobody knows!
Well, I just had my account transferred to an Online account. Get discounted tariff, and the bills are viewable in the same format as the paper ones, as .pdf's. Worthwhile stopping the paper bill's to save a little.
Better than BT's incentive to go "paper-free" - they'll buy the Woodland Trust a sapling to plant. :S0 -

How long did it take them to transfer you onto the online tariff? Their site is almost dead this morning so I can't see any info.0 -

Just phoned them, my online account will be set up by Friday and active by Monday. It only saves me an extra £5 per year but I prefer the online access.0 -
They were nice and quick to set mine up. Emailed asking about, got a reply of what I need to give them (email address & password I'd like set for 1st log-on).
I replied, and account was up and running next day.0 -

They also set up my internet account within 24 hours but as yet I cannot see any information when I log into my account. I log in, click on my account number and then get a blank screen. If it is still the same next week I'll give them a ring.0 -
There was a little problem with mine (said my username/password was invalid). Sent them a quick email to ask@zest4.com and they sorted it out straight away.0

I emailed them on Monday and they phoned me back Tuesday evening. As soon as the very nice lady said she could log into my account without problem I had a brainwave! I was using Firefox! At the moment Zest4 only support Internet Explorer. I then logged into my account using Explorer without problem, whilst she was still on the phone. She then told me that they intend to support other browsers over the next couple of months.
Great service! How many of the big utility companies would phone you to try and resolve a problem?
Very impressed!0 -

I've been with Zest since May 05. Previously I was with SWEB for 30 years and my monthly payments - I'm all electric- were £75 and they wanted to put those up to £90 pcm.
I switched to Zest as they were lowest when I did a price comparison. just over £51 pcm.
Now I have had an invoice from Zest which shows that after 5 months - 5 light usage, summer months at that - my credit is a measly £2.19. I'm used to having built up a credit over the summer which evens out the much larger winter bills - anything from £100-150.
This obviously isn't going to happen with Zest. I'm tempted to think they quoted deliberately low initially to get the business. Has anyone else found this ? Are all the other companies doing this too?if i had known then what i know now0 -

How many payments have you made during the 5 months? Sometimes the direct debit doesn't start until 4 - 6 weeks after you join a company. Check uswitch with your annual consumption, Zest are still promising to be the cheapest supplier over the year.0
