Live streaming of T.V Channel

Is it possible to stream live on my website a T.V program that i'm also watching live.

Like for example if i'm watching say 'Britains got talent on my P.C via a T.V card. Could I take that and stream it live onto a website that I have, for other people's benefit around the world?

Please can someone tell me one way or ther other if it's possible? And what i'd need?

Thanks

It's not yours to stream! What about copyright issues etc.

This could cause you serious problems.

Like espresso said copyright issues would be a problem and you could be in for some legal backlash if you stream copyright material for other users.

These things said, it does happen all the time around the world, particularly with pay-per-view sporting events.

It shouldn't be condoned in any way, but then nor should having to pay to watch Scotland get humped every two years in international football.

But it is absolutely possible (and would happen much more often if the UK had any kind of solid broadband infrastructure.)

You don't honestly think i'm sad enough to stream Brtiains got talent lol:rotfl:

The stuff I intend to stream is kosher in terms of copyright. It's a certain foreign niche channel whom we have permission from. It's a not-for-profit organisation.

Bear in mind that 90% of UK connections won't be able to handle serving up a tv stream at any decent quality.
They say it's genetic, they say he can't help it, they say you can catch it - but sometimes you're born with it
