best card for spending in the USA

hello all
off to the States in july for family holiday

want to get a card thats best on purchases but wont sting me ( well not too much) if i spend in the states on it

i have a Tesco one now only got £450 on it only and have tried asking them for some 0% on purchases -- but they wont play ball..

so really want to pay it and ditch it

any advice pls ty all inadvance

    The following cards do not charge foreign transaction fee.
    Post Office
    Nationwide credit card
    Nationwide debit card (with Flex account)
    Abbey Zero
    Goldfish i24 (good benefits but high annual fee)

    ive got a nationwide debit card

    how easy is it to use the nationwide debit card in the states - do they use chip and pin ?

    cause its a debit card and not from a major bank will it get refused so should i also take a mastercard of some sort
