Where is he going?
Sometimes, if he is going to France, TomTom has special characters in street or place names, e.g. accents on the a's or e's. If you type in using normal character set it might not work.
Try when entering City do one or two characters then use scroll to select the one you want. Also note that TomTom has sometimes street names slightly wrong, e.g, it may have Ave Boulengerie when the actual name might be Ave de Boulengerie.
Its trial and error I'm afraid.
Hope this helps0 -
Why would you need a Sat Nav to go from Spain to France?, it would be difficult to get lost.;)0

if you take what i said literally then of course it would be difficult  however trying to find a specific address (that is what sat navs are meant for) is proving difficult as the tomtom wont accept the address he's trying to input, as I said in my first post...so yes he can drive from spain to france as he does it twice a week, but he cant find the street hes meant to be going to, hence the sat nav...anyone else have any actual advice? thankyou xmyx0 -
Only thing I know about when doing cross country travelling is that you have to select the destination COUNTRY first before inputting the address as it would look for the address in the country you are presently in.
If thats not the problem then why not tell us what street it is and maybe we could try that0 -
Which version of Tomtom does he have? Not all versions have complete maps of Europe. If it's main roads only, then it may not work down to the level he needs?
Cheers,
