Advice re selling registration plate please!
A friend of mine has asked for some help in selling his private registration plate on ebay. He's not had much experience of ebay and tried to sell it once before but got cold feet and pulled out of sale when he got an email saying they'd send him a cheque for £3k and cold he refund them the difference etc. (Scam!!)
Anyway, it's an irish plate and doesn't really have significance to him as it came on a car he had purchased. I can't remember of the top of my head what it spells but I recall he said something about "Libby" or similar.
So.... is there an optimum time to list the plate? And if it's a reasonable value item, what's the best payment method to use? I've only ever sold smaller items on ebay so feel a little apprehensive.
