Mailto thro Firefox

All my settings have gone up the swany. I had my mailto set thro Gmail but that's somehow converted to going thro Thunderbird,I know I reload Gmail notifier to set it again, but I'm still not that keen on Gmail. I don't want it going thro Thunderbird as that only set up for my work email account.
I want to set it up thro my Yahoo email account. Problem is I can only set it up thro IE and not thro Firefox, so now when I click on the mail icon on my firefox browser, it reads mail from my Eclipse work account on Firefox and sends new messages from my Yahoo account on IE. I wanted to send them thro Firefox but I can't work it out.

The mailto you set up through IE should also change mailto links in Firefox as Firefox uses the same settings.
Go here:
http://help.yahoo.com/help/us/mail/ext/ext-11.html
and that should make all mailto links open with yahoo.
I've had problems downloading it before.
If it doesn't work, go to that link using IE.
I think it sometimes says "The driver has been successfully downloaded." even though it has been prevented by XP sp2 so you might have to click the security bar if it appears and try again0 -
Thanks, I've tried downloading it again, but it would only load onto IE, it won't work direct with Firefox mailto link as it still opens up in IE.0
-
Still can only get it to go thro IE, what security bar?0
-
I meant the bar that apppears sometimes when you try to install something in XP service Pack 2. (might be an active X they use to install it - can't remember)
Actually I think that yahoo always opens IE to write a reply. I had mailto links opening through Firefox for a while and thought that the above was the way I had done it,
Need to try to remember if there was something else I did0 -
Just installed this:
https://addons.mozilla.org/extensions/moreinfo.php?id=206
(homepage here)
seems to work okay0 -
I've downloaded it and the mailto link is now opening Gmail in Firefox?
In IE the mailto link is still opening Yahoo!0 -

that's the default
Right-click a mailto link and select settings from WebmailCompose. You can change the setting to Yahoo in the first tab (http://mail.yahoo.com/)
the first tab in settings decides what happens when you click a mailto link.
The second tab determins what happens when you right-click a mailto link.
I've got it selected to use Yahoo mail in the first tab and I have google and hotmail ticked in the second tab.
So now if I click a mailto, yahoo opens. But I can also right-click and send it to google or hotmail instead0 -

You're a star

When I right click the WebmailCompose option has disappeared and I don't know how to get it back, I tried deleting the extension and reloading it, but it's stll not there.
