Hiya Amy,
Don't beat yourself up, you have worked so hard lately and have paid off quite a bit of your debt in May.
Once your debt has gone things will seem so much better, and you can then start saving for that dream house of yours!
Hope your feeling better soon!!0 -
Hi Katy
Funnily enough i looked recently, but the money I am on in London is "too good" if you know what i mean, and i do love my job. Its everything i want, just too far away!
Thanks Hayley. Just a down day today me thinks.
And im wishing the year away already, just so i can be debt free! I think im very impatient as well, that doesnt help. :rotfl:Debt: just my mortgage

OK, so £10000 is a lot of money.
But £100 is something that you CAN achieve - you just have to achieve it 100 times.
That is pretty do-able I reckon.
So, make a picture of your own home (a real photo, or a cartoon drawing, whatever!!) and divide it into a grid of 10 x 10 giving you 100 squares.
Every time you save £100, you colour a square in, and you are a step closer to reaching your goal!!
If £100 boxes seem to be too daunting - you can do £10 squares......you just need 1000 of them! Simple!!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
That is such a fantastic idea!!!!!
I think i will do that tomorrow... you know inbetween that work stuff! :rotfl:
Thank you

You're welcome - I do it all the time.......the "big" numbers are too scary to ever imagine disappearing......but I can quite easily make £50 from ebay or a car boot, or OH doing an overtime shift, etc, so therefore that is a "box" coloured in!!
I just need 1100 £50 boxes filled in and I will be debt free.........easy really isn't it!!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Hi Amy, sorry your having a down day, i think we all go through those times when things aren't going our way or we feel things aren't moving as well as we'd hoped. Its also awful and really heart wrenching when you come to some realisations that you may not achieve all you planned to do. However you may not achieve all that you set out to do but you can have a damn good try at trying to. Keep your chin up and see what you can achieve.
Have you looked into matched betting to earn a bit extra. Quite a few good bets around at the mo.:j Live on £4500, £2531/£4500:T 101 in 1001 (52/101):j:beer::j

Hey amy,
I know what you mean, somehow the paying the debt off and then getting around to saving seems like one hell of a long way off.. but it would be one hell of a lot longer/never happen if you hadnt started this journey. You are doing brilliantly hun (even if you seem to be doing strange things in your sleep lol!!)
That is a brilliant idea hypno, its so true that if u break it down it seems so much more acheivable0 -
Thanks Andan. xxxx I would try matched betting but im not great with numbers, and i think i would confuse the hell out of myself and probably end up in more debt!
Awwww thanks MM... (i laughted out loud at the bit about me doing strange things in my sleep!!).
I am just creating a little pic of a house now! :jDebt: just my mortgage

Hypno, that's a brillaint idea. I think I might nick that one.
Amy, I do understand how you feel about the job. It's great if you can find one you enjoy, trouble with mine was I was starting to hate it! It makes everything else seem c*ap if your not happy in one aspect of your life. You've probably given this advise to lots of people yourself, but it does get better. Big (((HUGS)))

I've said this in another post but seems relevant again..
When I am debt free (July '09ish) I am buying myself a new motrobike. I will not do this before I am clear of debt but to keep me motivated into clearing my debts sooner I have a picture of the bike I will buy on my work PC and my home PC.
Every little bit of motivation helps0
