New boiler

Just had the boiler repair man out to fix a leak and it looks like ours is knackered. Distributor valve seized up, motor about to burn out and that's on top of the leaks.
Been quoted £1600 (supply and fit) for a valent one, which he says are the best kind to have.
Is this a good quote, and is it worth going for the most expensive kind of boiler or should I ask for a cheaper model?
btw, am in manchester.

Learn from the mistakes of others - you won't live long enough to make them all yourself.

Tbh, that sounds ok - Vaillant will be about £900-1100k depending on model, add in a system flush, venting, etc., etc...
Mine was £2200 but included running extra pipework in for relocation, new vent thru wall and so on.
Check what the quote includes - he might be cutting corners.Life is about give and take, if you can't give why should you take?0
