It is probably saying that because you're already with them for one fuel. Just phone eon or npower and they can organize the switch. Eons price protection is definitely available to existing customers-not sure about npower. Unfortunately doing it directly does mean you lose any money the compariison sites pay.

Just to let you know, Im an Npower customer and Uswitch recommended I moved to a different tariff, I called them to ask if I could switch which they said "yes" but I could not then fix until 2011, I asked if I could fix my current tarrif and they said no problem. The gent was very helpful and said that it was supposed to be for new customers but to save me switching to another supplier I could have the deal..... didnt even mention switching to another supplier so was chuffed. Bills will be 7% higher but lets face it, it will be more than that in "normal" rises in the next few months, he also said that Im not tied in (waiting for letter before I count my chickens!!) so can leave whenever I wished so if it goes down I can move/ swap back to std tariff!!!

    Well chuffed!! :j
  • I'm an Npower employee.....Just to clarify, the Fixed 2011 is available to new AND existing customers IF you pay by MONTHLY Direct Debit. You need to be a Dual Fuel Direct Debit customer, or an Electricity Direct Debit customer (monthly direct debit in both cases).
