Cant comment specifically on Lloyds, but my bank (HBOS), if you pay via ATM, it can take a day or two to appear, but its always backdated. If you pay in via branch its instant access (Appreciating this may not be possible), obviously the usual extra few days for cheques. Be careful on the ATM options, you might have to specify cheque./cash, which could cause the confusion, of course being a computer its probably wrong.0

The staff in the branch or the collection people have to get the cash out of the ATM, check it and authorise it onto the account.
Otherwise we would all put that we have added £500 at the ATM for any amount we add.
If the amount they count is different to what you have said they adjust it to their figure.
Happened to me £90 down to £80. I'm sure i counted correctly but there is nothing I could do to prove it.I beep for Robins - Beep Beep

I've never trusted those things - I always queue up to put deposits in - I get a 4-weekly cheque from the council for my tenant's rent which is guaranteed to be 'in the account' the same day if I physically hand it to a cashier; no such guarantees for those deposit boxes. (Why this can't be deposited directly into my account is a subject for another thread...)Conjugating the verb 'to be":
-o I am humble -o You are attention seeking -o She is Nadine Dorries0
