Being nosy though what did you think you might have to say? Don't worry about sharing your bad experiences early on. Its in the open now and you won't have to worry about the 'right time' later on down the line.
Allan know all the gory details of my past and (once i'd convinced him there was no need to go and thump anyone) he's been nothing but supportive (I still get nightmares occasionally).
