Morocco flights

Hi,
Am hoping to go to Morocco in April 2006 for a couple of weeks, and am just wondering what I should expect to pay for flights.
Currently BA have return flights for about £130 including taxes etc, which seems a pretty good deal.
I would prefer to fly from Manchester, but London is OK. Ideally I'd travel between 9th and 23th April, although the £130 flights are only available for outward travel on the 11th and return on the 23rd.
Anyone have any views?
Also, if anyone has been to Morocco, I'd be grateful for any other tips (moneysaving or otherwise) that might come in useful...
Thanks...

When you say Morocco,I assume from the fare quoted that you are referring to Agadir?
If so https://www.charterflights.co.uk were quoting £135 to Agadir from manchester-the
site took too long for me to find out what extra charges were involved if any.Go to Google and type in "cheap flights Agadir " and check them out-tho £130 does look cheap for Morocco generally.
Not familiar with that part of Morocco-I know Tangier and Casablanca better. But I
imagine that goods like leather [eg jackets] and brass and copperware will be cheap.
Don't forget to haggle hard especially when buying more than one item from the same dealer.
You will probably have to haggle over the taxi fares too.
I hope you enjoy your trip tho the sea will still be very cold.0 -
Thanks Tony.
The one I quoted from BA, was actually to Marrakesh. I don't know Morocco at all, so I don't know the best places to fly to, but we'll be looking to travel around a bit, rather than staying in the same place, so we're quite flexible.
It's funny that you should mention the sea being cold in April. We were initially thinking of waiting until the summer, but we figured that it would just end up being scorching hot, and impossible to do very much. In your experience, how hot does it get in the summer months? I suppose that it varies from place to place, but as I said, we're quite flexible as to where we go.
Anyway, I'll check out the Agadir flights as you suggest...0 -
If you want to go to the ancient cities of Fez and Marrakech then April and May are fine-temperature wise. Then, you can expect 25-30 degrees.Because they are inland, the midsummer temperatures can be pretty unbearable-high 30's every day.
Perhaps surprisingly,Agadir is much cooler even though it is further south. There is a cold sea current off the Canaries and the wind blowing off the Atlantic help to keep the temperature down to 30 ish even at the height of summer.
Tangier is somewhat similar to Agadir temperature wise also.It is a smallish place but has a great sandy beach on the Med. with cafes and bars.Casablanca is a bit hotter but not really a tourist place-its their commercial centre but still has sandy beaches.
Famous for its cuisine of course.Couscous for instance with different ingredients in
different parts of the country. If you like almonds, you must try cornes de gazelle-a sort of biscuit shaped a bit like a gazelle's horn. Also pastela-pigeon pie,one of my
favourites-a mixture of sweet and savoury. Some of their salads are to die for-especially the ones with avocados, tomatoes, onions and parsley. And any number of
tajines-their soups are very good too, though you might not feel like one in such a hot climate.Curiously they don't seem to do cold soups.
Anything produced locally, fruit and vegetables for example, are very cheap and good
tasting. But there are high import taxes,so take toothpaste, suntan lotion etc with you.
And toilet paper as most Arabic countries tend to use running water and a hole in the ground as opposed to flush toilets as we have here.[They use their left hand there, and then keep their right hand for eating as they don't use cutlery.
Even though it is a Moslem country, you can still buy alcohol in some supermarkets and cafe/bars as well as hotels. If you are going with children, the fanta orange has a much better flavour there. In addition there are water sellers all over the place and I have never encountered a problem with drinking it.0
