Fancy Dress outfit (Prince) for 5 yr old

My son is having a Prince and Princess day at school and being totally unorganised I've just remembered and need to sort out an outfit for him. What on earth can I dress him in? I don't really want to have to go and buy him something if possible. But any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Do any of your older relatives have brocadish curtains they no longer use? A tunic made of something like this is easy. A belt round it, covered in foil, a sword, to make him feel like a man, (cos you do want thick black tights) and a cardboard crown. Either that or a pinstriped suit and a big pair of ears.:T:jDabbler in all things moneysaving.Master of none:o
Well except mastered my mortgage 5 yrs early :T:j

Crown from Burger King then cover it in foil to match the belt and sword.
Or send him in a navy blazer with fake brocade round the cuff - he can go as prince WilliamMember of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19

Just ad a wicked though... dress him in purple with a black curly eig, he can go as the artist formerly known as....Prince, or is he back to just being a symbol now?:pMember of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19

Thanks for both your ideas. He's actually called William so my mum had suggested Prince William!!!! The girls are going as Princesses (so much easier for their mums!!). Might have to pay Burger King a trip this week for a free crown!!!0
