they either go in the back which should be colour coded...or there maybe a side panel on one of the sides...

Does your aerial go straight into the TV or into something else.If it goes into something else try putting it straight into the TV.What do your 3 coloured wires come from.

The coloured wires come from the DVD. I've took the DVD out of the TV and i've got the picture back, but BBC/BB2/Channel 5 and some other channels cannot be found and i've done a re set but nothing

Why can the TV not work without the DVD or video being plugged in?

The TV should work without them. You may have damaged the aerial plug/connection when moving it. The rule is get it working on its own and then put the other things back.Do you have a portable that you could check the aerial with

Something else to be aware of - if they were using a HD cable, your tv may still be looking for it's signal via the HD input. Plug the xbox back in and ensure to switch off the HD input....this got me with the PS3 first time.

Those connections sound like component video (Red/Green/Blue) and either an analogue audio input or output. They should have a little picture next to them with an arrow, if the arrow is pointing outside of the circle it's an output (to a separate hifi or amp) and if it points inwards it's an input. As component video doesn't pass audio, these additional red/white connectors could be for that. If there is no yellow (video) input on the back of the TV, it will more than likely be either on the side or on a panel on the front. Sometimes these are behind a flap that you have to press to access.

Check the aerial connection for the TV's tuner though. If you're still having problems, post back with the make/model of TV and exactly what xbox your kids use and the type of connection.
