not sure if this is the right place to post this... could do with some advice really
ive just paid £220 for a beauty therapy course at my local college. its 3 hrs a week for under a year. on the first day they told me i had to pay £54 for a uniform and £57 for a make-up kit. this had never been conveyed previously! i assumed id need to buy a kit but a uniform! they say i HAVE to get it or i cant do the kit, i assume with no refund. i paid for this course back in june/july and never has it been mentioned about have=ing to pay £110 extra! it isnt in the prospectus and when i paid over the phone it was not mentioned then either.
id really like to do the course but £54 for a uniform i will not use after and will prob be wearing for a total of around 50hrs is rediculous!!
anyone know where i stand... im ringing their student services on monday, should i ring CAB first??
many thanks!!

Did you talk to the course lecturer before you booked the course? Its always a good idea to do that as they will talk to you about the requirements. £54 does seem expensive for a uniform but perhaps they include other costs within that. Your course most likely costs several times more than £220, the rest will be paid by the funding body (i.e. government).
I agree with you of course, they should publish details of any additional costs.0
