I've been screwed over by a website which has now been closed down - from the emails received I've tracked down the person and address - the person in question has emailed me using her husbands company email address (run from home) so with this company name and the address given on google I have used 192.com to successfully find her name and confirm her home address.[/code]
The website domain registration has expired and returned to the hosting company - is their any way of tracking the previous registrants of a website ?
I've emailed them repeatedly without reply and I have informed them that I will name them on here if I don't get a response and use the small claims court.

I no longer work in Council Tax Recovery but instead work as a specialist Council Tax paralegal assisting landlords and Council Tax payers with council tax disputes and valuation tribunals. My views are my own reading of the law and you should always check with the local authority in question.

What was the name of the original website?0

Hi, sorry to hear about the website.
What do you mean by 'screwed over' ? Do you mean financial or just wasting your time ? It would make a difference to any court case.0 -
I've just been searching and finally managed to find that the registered holder of the domain name is the same person I've been dealing with. I have said to them that'll give 7 days before I publicise the website name so I'll stick to that for now as I wouldn't want that to go against me in any future small claims case.
Another query I have is that when paid though google checkout I was charged VAT by the website - is it possible that this website (selling toys)could be classed as an extension of their normal business( electrician) for VAT ? otherwise how can I tell that the actual person is registered for VAT as the company appears to be sole trader/partnership rather than limited.I no longer work in Council Tax Recovery but instead work as a specialist Council Tax paralegal assisting landlords and Council Tax payers with council tax disputes and valuation tribunals. To be honest if the websites now closed I doubt the owner will be botherd if you put the website name on here.0

They have taken money for an order that has not been received and it appears never dispatched. I have repeatedly emailed them as has google when I complained through google checkout.
I did get an initial email stating it had been dispatched and then another stating that it had definitely been sent and then when queried again several weeks later they changed the profile on google checkout to say it had been dispatched and then sent an email stating it had only just been posted.
I've repeatedly asked for proof of postage or my money back - it was initially ordered as a main birthday present for a birthday on 8th May,I no longer work in Council Tax Recovery but instead work as a specialist Council Tax paralegal assisting landlords and Council Tax payers with council tax disputes and valuation tribunals. Hopefully you paid by credit card... therefore just get card company on the case... before anyone says it only applies to purchases over £100 (which is the case)... it will do no harm in trying as I have done this successfully before on purchases for far less... :cool:0

If the company you bought the item from was a plc then you stand next to no hope of going after the individual. I'd check companies house for the name of the company you originally ordered from.0

It appears that its not a limited company - she's also traded on Ebay in her name and has had the same sort of issues with items not being received.I no longer work in Council Tax Recovery but instead work as a specialist Council Tax paralegal assisting landlords and Council Tax payers with council tax disputes and valuation tribunals. Name And Shame!!Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0
