Don't buy anything you can get on prescription - sudacream, bepanthen, calpol etc. Get to the docs and they will sort you out.
Agree about waiting for things until baby arrives.0 -
certainly agree regarding the baby wipes, they are also very good at removing paint from brushes etc, my uncle swears by them!
If you have a wilkos near you, or any kind of linen house, you can normally but a set of about 6 face flannels for around £2, just cut them in half. You could even use an oldish towel.
HTHPlease be nice to all moneysavers!
Dance like nobody's watching; love like you've never been hurt. Sing like nobody's listening; live like it's heaven on earth."

Personally, unless I was on the bones of my arris finance wise, I would rather fork out for stuff like that than endure another hellish visit to my GP needlessly.

Pretty clear that everyone has the same thoughts on baby wipes – get rid!! So will see if I can swap for something more useful or else get refund and put towards reusable...
Dora explorer – thanks for the suggestion of a play gym, might a nice one to put on the gift list!
Squashy – thanks for the suggestions on bedding and carriers/slings – OH is especially keen on getting one so will have to take him along for trying out!
Shirlgirl2004 – you mentioned about the cloth nappies I've got being likely to leak – is this well know for this brand / type? My plan was to try and get a few different types from ebay etc to try out to see what suits...0 -
Don't worry too much about travel system accessories as it is a summer baby you can wait and see if likely to use them.
got my mattress from boots.com...got extra points and free delivery, seem to remember they had a sale on around july time so if you can wait til them might get a bargain. Beside baby will be in moses basket most of the time.
Found Vertbaduet very good price wise for fitted sheets for cot, esp if you wait til they send you discount flyers and free delivery codes.
Don't fully agree with posts re baby wipes., Yes cotton wool and water at first but as baby gets a bit older and when you are out and about you prob will use wipes. As long as you use the sensitive ones.
Have you checked out what your local council offer as incentives to use real nappies?
Check out when your local NCT sale is....lots of bargains to be had..much check out when mine is.
Clothes dryer.....yes!0 -
