Hi all you 'Techies'.
I love my lap top, and can't imagine life without it, but I'm afraid I only 'know how to tell the time...not how the clock works'..if you get my drift. In other words, I'm as thick as the proverbial when it comes to understanding ANYTHING technical to do with my machine.
I have several niggly little problems, some of which I mught be able to find answers to now I've found this site....but to be going on with, can anyone help me with this one:-
Everytime I boot up my computer, this SmartBridge Alert appears. Everytime I click on it, it goes away, but returns on next boot up. It says....
:BTHelpNotifier.exe.-Entry Point Not Found.
The procedure entry poin Get ProcessImage FileName W could nor be located in the dynamiclink library PSAPI.DLL

Can someone please explain what it means, and what I can do to rectify it. :o

To simply make sure it never turns up, go start>run and type in msconfig. Click run then find the tab called startup on the window which appears. Find the program and remove it from the list.

Thanks timbin, but do you know what it is supposed to do...which it obviously isn't doing? and will there be any harm done by removing it?

I should imagine not, since you get rid of it as soon as it turns up!

if you google SmartBridge it has references to ie7
GOOGLE it before you ask, you'll often save yourself a lot of time. ;)

    To solve this:-

Click Start , select Search, select "Files and folders" then type in "psapi.dll" (without the quotes) you should find a file called (no suprise) psapi.dll then right click on the files and select "Rename" change the name to psapiold.dll then reboot computer. This should sort it.
