Hi everyone,
I have a slow cooker and I wondered it it is feasible for me to turn it on at 7.45am and leave it on low all day until my OH gets home about 6-6.30pm.
I think it is too long really bu just wondered if anyone else did this and it works ok?
Thanks

I do this. I do pot roasts and casseroles/chillis etc. I do find that if it's a roast it is virtually uncarvable as it falls to bits when you try to cut it, but that shows it's tender, right? I don't even add any extra liquid to most things as things like chicken have so much water and fat in them anyway that they produce enough liquid themselves.0

that sounds fine as it is a slow cooker and thats what they are made for to leave on all day, I used to worry about leaving mine on all day till I tried it a few times and the house didnt burn down and the meal was lovely and tender:Dto be updated:;)0

I use a timer plug and set it to come on a 11am. Obviously with the summer coming that may not be a good idea. Especially if it has chicken in it.0

Feanor, that's the length of time that I'm out of the house for and I've had no problems......................... so far.
