Bamboo blinds to trim

hello everyone, have bought a pair of value bamboo blinds from Argos for my lounge. Same type as the kitchen(which did not need any trimming to fit inside window), just wondering if some handy person can tell me what is best for trimming the sides/ I've done a long search online & get told either a mitre saw or fine-toothed hack. I gather a stanley knife would not work lol Many thanks in advance. Andrew.

Hi Andrew,
I got some of those ones from Argos, too, a couple of months back.
I cut the thick bamboo ends to width at the top and bottom first with a
hacksaw - taking equal amounts off both ends. Then laid the whole unfurled
blind on the floor and ran up the sides with a pair of tin snips like these:

It all worked out OK for me.
HTH.
Good luck,

I had this sort of thing years ago.... if you're going to saw them on the roll, make sure they are rolled dead straight otherwise you get wavy edges. Trust me. Might have been worth spending a lot more time cutting up the unfurled blind to get the edge straight.0

I just used a pair of general use kitchen scissors - pain to use, blind was at least 6 feet long but managed it. Needed an inch or so trimming off so only did one side, worst part was hanging the blind over something whilst cutting it down.0
