  • Yes I meant MAKRO...

Just finished a busy day studying and got my M's muddled up because I was reading an email from MAPLIN...

    So yes I meant MAKRO.

And in terms of who can get a card, it is open to more than just the self employed...

I bought the wife one of the Ultrasonex brushes a couple of years from Argos when it was reduced (it's always been on offer).
Wife says it works ok, but there is no form of grip on the handle, meaning that it is hard to grip when wet and can easily be dropped.
As an aside, it is the same price in Argos as quoted in the first post by freestyle.

I don't tend to recommend these brushes as there is some anecdotal evidence that these ultrasonic brushes can contribute to gum recession.

I find the Oral B Braun standard electric brushes do a perfect job cleaning and are relatively inexpensive also!
I've been using the Braun Oral B Plaque Remover with 3D action for some time. While my dentist said I was cleaning my teeth extremely well, he noticed some gum recession. I've now been advised to only use the electric toothbrush once a day <he said that's not a general recommendation but specific to me>, presumably to cut down on the gum problem. He also gave me a tiny-headed inter-dental manual brush and set me a regime to follow. Use the inter-dental brush around the gum line and wiggle between the teeth, follow with floss then brush as normal. He said the inter-dental brush has been shown to be as effective as the dentist scaling your teeth.

Happened to me as well and such a hassle to get the right one. Tesco tell me I need to return it for a refund and reorder the 50000 one online. Claim they can't do it for me. Not much of a customer service... :-/

Have to wait another week now and hope they get it right this time.

Sorry about the late resurrection of a dead thread but just wondering whether anyone might know the recommended charge time for an Ultrasonex Phaser? Had some instructions at one time but seem to have lost them. I've heard they lose their charge after a while so want to make sure it's as long a while as possible by not over/under-charging.

    Cheers,
    Steve

P.S. Just in case it's any help to anyone the half price (£29.99) offer is back on at Argos: http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/4405632.htm

Certainly; it's a 15-hour charge before first use, and if you ever manage to fully discharge it, a 5-hour charge thereafter.

Oh, and just so you know, according to the instruction booklet I've got in front of me now, the Ultrasonex Phaser Toothbrush has a NiMH battery in it, so there's apparently no chance of it suffering from the 'memory effect'. It won't overcharge either.

Warning: The toothbrush must not by used by or near anyone who is fitted with a cardiac pacemaker or defibrillator.
