How to use Web Cam

Hi im not a techie so please keep it simple
Im wanting to use a web cam to talk to my relatives in spain so i got a cam and thought the best way would be to use the same as them. So i loaded hotmail and messenger but what a pain i need a name for hotmail another for messenger and when id finished it seems to take over my computer and slows it down, Iv also found tha when i go to veiw web cam it is not highlighted.
Is there any other simple basic way of using the cam at moment i use a yahoo e mail address can i tie it in with that or find another

you can use a webcam with yahoo, there is info here of how to do it:

Hows about SKYPE You have to register ect but it's all free, Skype recognises your webcam as soon as it's connected,Every day when I wake up I thank the Lord I'm WELSH. .0
