Wallis charity charm bracelets on eBay

These limited edition bracelets were sold at Wallis for £15 each with all money going to Cancer Research. Now that they have sold out, greedy people are selling them on eBay for a HUGE profit. I think this is disgusting. I had a look, and about 95% of the sellers do not mention any intention to donate a percentage of the final selling price to Cancer Research. How is this any different from the situtation with Live8 tickets this summer? Bad publicity forced eBay to remove those, so maybe if enough people complain about this (as I have done), they will remove these too.

Ebay sent me a general response, all about how they can't be held responsible for anything on their site and basically washing their hands of the whole issue. They even said they can't guarantee the 'legality' of anything on the site (so presumably they don't mind profiting from illegal sales). Cancer Research told me they have also complained and eBay are going to email all the sellers suggesting they donate some money. I wonder how many of them will.0

Should we blame the sellers or buyers? We only have sellers because there are people who want to buy to look like they have given to charity when all they are really doing is buying a fashion accessory.
If no one buys on principle of the charity not profitting then the sellers will have no market.~Laugh and the world laughs with you, weep and you weep alone.~:)

Illuminate,
Have you not the warning at the top of this forum, especially the part "Remember there's no such thing as a stupid question, pls be nice to all MoneySavers!"
Your rudeness adds nothing to the debate~Laugh and the world laughs with you, weep and you weep alone.~:)

Illuminate,
You're basically saying that people deserve to suffer and die from cancer because they're buying a bracelet where the money is donated to charity?
I wouldn't even tell a smoker that they deserved to get lung cancer because in time they'll find out that that might not be the case. Chances are they won't, they might get throat or tongue cancer, heart disease, stroke, emphysema etc... it's unfair to tell smokers they might get lung cancer when there are a whole heap of things that could get them first.
Anything which incentivises the donater to give money to charity could cause people to get on their high-horse but sadly these are the measures the charities have to take to get donations. The Lottery, Raffles, Coffee Mornings. Even a coffee morning for charity is pointless according to you. People shouldn't be so greedy as to want a cup of coffee they should just put money in a tub. How about a sponsored walk? Maybe people shouldn't sponsor others because they should just donate the money rather than seeing their friend walk?
Illuminate? You're really not very bright at all.

I have removed the post by Illuminate
I appreciate that this is an issue that has it's supporters and detractors, but i think that these points can be made without resorting to this type of aggressive language0 -
Dissappointed that my original post has been removed, but I'll live with it and stand by what I said. Despite the fact it was posted at 130am after a hard day.
My anger wasn't directed at jessielicious, more at the kind of individual who believes they are making a worthwhile contribution to charity by purchasing of anonymous sellers on eBay.
Like most contributors on here I have had (and am having) direct experiences of the effects cancer can have on a family. I wouldn't wish it on somebody without careful consideration. The language was aggressive..... so is the disease.
skintchick.... there are plenty of places on this website for discussing our personal finances. This is neither the forum nor the thread.
lizzieT84........ you think its "unfair" tell a smoker they might get lung cancer !!!!!! I wish somebody had told my uncle 20 years ago.
And no...... I rarely sponsor anybody.0
