Are you sure it's over - they just started advertising it at the weekend in Scotland for the first time!
I got 8 for Xmas pressies for my neices etc - but my 2 year old now wants to play with the cup full of hot tea - not very safe!0 -
Thansk for the advice. I did email PG tips last week and as confirmed by another email the previous page, It was the same generic one, saying that the promotion was over, but it's still advertised as such on there web site.
Whilst I realise the promotion is popular, I beleive certain ares were excluded as I couldnt find a single supermarket that stocked it in my area of England for weeks.0 -

I have one here that is surplus to my requirements.
I was going to add it onto my swap list on another forum but if someone is happy to cover the cost of the item and the postage its yours.
I picked up a couple of extras as I knew from the thread that people in some areas were having problems getting them.0 -

To put another point of view to you, PG Tips can't really be accused of being greedy - they were giving the mugs away free. Most promotions run "while stocks last" and there were 1.5m of the mugs in circulation. Unfortunately there are not enough for every man, woman and child in the country but you will find this with any promotion.
Also, they sent them to certain supermarkets but had no control over which stores/areas those supermarkets decided to stock them in. So really, you have the supermarket chains to blame for not stocking in your area. Don't be angry with PG Tips...
I agree that the eBayers are definitely greedy but they'll get theirs when the novelty wears off and they're stuck with too many of the things than they know what to do with (and will probably have to flog them at a loss). I'd keep an eye on the auctions if I were you.
SuzePoppycat wrote:I contacted Unilever the makers of Pg tips last week and today received a reply. The promotion is now ended, did it EVER even start? certainly my local Tesco's, Morrisions, and Sainsbury's in my area has as far as I can tell never had them in stock, in fact for weeks there's been a large display of PG tips without mugs at Morrions. I have tried for weeks, but alas begger all.
So it beggers the question, was the offer exlcusive for certain areas in England? or did some greedy Ebays buy most of the stock? or was it a case of, very limited mugs? whatever the reason many parents myself included have to tell there kids, sorry we can't have any. To put it midly I am disgusted with them. Two kids having two do without because of a greedy go for nothing company. I will not buy any more PG tips because I am utterly disgusted with them, and you can hold me to that.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Savings & Investments, Small Biz MoneySaving and House Buying, Renting & Selling boards.
