  • Got one from Tesco in Bognor, just really because we needed teabags anyway. Are they really going to be collectors item, so should be left in the box?
  • Off to my local Tesco which usually stocks up at about now so will pull some off the cages if any, PM me if anyone wants em posted (mugs & teabags say a fiver delivered?) Both mug and teabags as got too many teabags now and has to be first come first served else I'll go spare! - PS got one spare anyway (mug that is - not me!).

Sorry - no more mugs in store at present een though were stocking up as I went - the one I have spare goes to.. Walshy who sent the first PM unless not required then have two more PMs as reserve. Please do not PM me any more. I will advertise here if I come across any more - Thanks, LMC

I contacted Unilever the makers of Pg tips last week and today received a reply. The promotion is now ended, did it EVER even start? certainly my local Tesco's, Morrisions, and Sainsbury's in my area has as far as I can tell never had them in stock, in fact for weeks there's been a large display of PG tips without mugs at Morrions. I have tried for weeks, but alas begger all.

So it beggers the question, was the offer exlcusive for certain areas in England? or did some greedy Ebays buy most of the stock? or was it a case of, very limited mugs? whatever the reason many parents myself included have to tell there kids, sorry we can't have any. To put it midly I am disgusted with them. Two kids having two do without because of a greedy go for nothing company. I will not buy any more PG tips because I am utterly disgusted with them, and you can hold me to that.

sadly there are 613 right now for sale on eBay.
Whilst I don't think it's fair people should have to pay for this, maybe the price will fall over the next week and some who don't have one can get one on there?
It's wrong though, and I'm glad I was able to help out the people I got mugs for, for no profit.
It's BOUGHT (to Buy), not BROUGHT (to bring) AND you cannot be frauded, only DEfrauded.

Please do not buy animals from a pet store. Visit your local sanctuary or centre and give a good home to an unloved or abandoned animal.

I was disgusted by their attitude towards it too, basically if you can get any then tough which is the wrong attitude to have to potential buyers of your product.

  • My O.H. (who is still a Sainsburys employee) put 8 on the shelf at 5 o'clock and guess what ? When she left at 5.30 tonight, there were still 8 on the shelf ! If anybody in the area wants to try their luck now, it's Oldbury.

If anyone is that desperate (and a few of you seem to be!). They are going for £5 - £6 including postage on ebay now. Not as cheap as in the shops, but it might keep your kids quiet (Although I'm sure there are better things to buy your kids for £5 - £6)

It's not the makers of PG Tips who are at fault for them being sold out. It's not the people who have bought a lot to sell on ebay, possibly spurred on by the hysteria on boards like this. In fact it's no ones fault, they have gone. Get it off ebay or forget it.

If it's any consilation though, I have one and I doubt it will last long. As someone mentioned earlier in the post, they do feel a bit cheap.

Good luck in your hunting but remember, a new gimmick will be along shortly!

So whos fault is it now not a single supermarket in my area appear to have any in stock, I have seracehd them all for weeks. I blame PG tips and now they lost a customer, and I hope that they are not in the position as I am of telling my kids particularly my sick daughter that she cant have one. I refuse point blank to feed the frenzy of greedy people who frequent Ebay whos only motive is profit.

I also note that PG tips claim the offer is over, yet its still on there web site.

If I were you I would write a letter to PG tips explaining that your daughter is poorly, had set her heart on the mug etc etc

how disappointed you are, the fact that it is heavily advertised on tv- you have searched for weeks etc.

Really hearts and flowers stuff. But start by saying that you always buy their product and how good it is etc.

    It is worth a try.
