Help Help Card Isurance ?????????????????

Please can you help,

my friend pyrchased a Plasma screen, last week, from a shop in london, the unit was £ 2400, well on the way home he got a rear puncture, so this had to be changed, well he could nnot get the locking wheel nut off, and had to go and get help..and his phone had gone flat, so he went of........when he returned the car had been brocken into and the screen had gone! his card will not cover it, he did not have the extra cover! Please my card is up for a change, I would hope this would never happen, but I though that some card covered items till home or for like 30 days for damage and theft, what is the best card for this????? and what are the idem limits please.

I think MBNA platinum provides some insurance cover, you would need to check their website for details.

Is the screen not covered under your car or home insurance, maybe you could check those out.
  • no he does not have cover it is a sad story, he lives with him mother and she only has buildings cover! the car will not cover it! this is a scary case really, some have a small limit £1000 so they would not have been no good, any others? Please.
  • If I was working in an Insurance company and I heard that story I would be very very suspicious!

Most cards do not have this type of cover as standard.

Unfortunately for your friend, he should have spent £150 on contents insurance before buying a £2000+telly.

It looks like the trusty Nationwide credit card is what you need. That still has protection for items over £50 for up to 100 days and has extended warranty cover too for certain items.

A quick look at the Terms and Conditions suggests your friend would have been covered with one of these.

    R.

PS - It is also the best credit card to use overseas - No commission paid when they convert foreign currency to Sterling.
Smile :), it makes people wonder what you have been up to.

Or £3.99 on an in-car phone charger.
