When I worked in Littlewoods food hall (about 15yrs ago) we used to charge 4p for a plastic bag, a lot of shops charged then. I think it,s quite a good idea. However, when I worked at a box making factory (too many moons ago to count) the boss berated us females for wanting the packaging cut down, said it was putting them out of business. Just cant win canya?:T:jDabbler in all things moneysaving.Master of none:o
Well except mastered my mortgage 5 yrs early :T:j

I am with the person who suggested leaving all the excess packaging at the checkout. I am already one of those annoying people who refuses to take a bag for my carrots and onions and has them rolling all over the conveyor belt!!!
The next step is to remove the boxes from cereals and any other items that are double or triple wrapped. That will reduce the amount of rubbish from our house that cannot be recycled and Asda will have to pay to dispose of it.Your really can not beat a good bargain !!!0 -

Guess what? Precisely that was introduced by law in Germany. Customers were given the right to leave excess packaging in the stores and the stores had to dispose of it at their own cost.
Need I say that packaging became much more minimal within no time, at zero loss of product quality?0 -
