When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free.
Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.

Hi Everyone,
I've done some fairly big money saving things today so am well pleased with myself.
1) Spent the time doing the calculations about our water usage. We can save 25% of the bill if we switch to a meter so I've set that in motion.
2) Got rid of my fee charging bank account and replaced it with one that is free to have.
Have a nice evening everyone.

I'm still taking baby steps on my DFW journey but have achieved a few things today:
- Reconciled my bank accounts with MS money - I want to do this once a week from now on
- Started reading 'Love is not enough' (subtitled "a smart woman's guide to makig & keeping money)
- Made soup from scratch & froze it ready to use for packed lunches in the week
- Resisted buying a couple of 'treats' that I'd normally buy on a Saturday (flowers, family sized chocolate, trip to the deli for lunch)

Erk, I could do with Andan to hold my hand... I've just placed my first bet & lay for a go at matched betting on a football match tomorrow. In for a penny in for a pound as they say, or something!!
Besides that, I did 2 MS jobs today and filed the reports. Created lunch from random things in the cupboard, and about to the do same for tea (yes, at 10pm... OH is away and I got carried away trying to figure out matched betting haha. Spag on toast it is then!)
Not done anything else really DFW today apart from looking for more MS jobs but there were none! Have big plan of action/jobs to do tomorrow though so we'll see how that goes. Might list some books on GM before bed, we'll see.
Hope you all had a nice Sat and cross your fingers for me I haven't screwed up on the betting thing...!Debt - Loan: £1150 C/C: £4763 @ 0%.0 -
Hi Klane, just got in from my audits, hence no post today. Am sure your matched bet will be fine. As long as you have laid at betfair and bet at the bookie, making sure youve met any odds requirements, you'll be fine!
Which bookie are you using first?
Will do my dfw things in a mo, just off to get some late tea as am starving!!:j Live on £4500, £2531/£4500:T 101 in 1001 (52/101):j:beer::j
