As far as I ca remember there's no reason why an 8 yr old wouldn't enjoy it especially if he loves the music. he'l love it.

I suppose it depends onhow protective you are... i wouldn't have a problem, but some people might think it was a bit grown up.

its' one of my favourite musical... as said he will enjoy especially if he likes Queen but don't forget that Ben Elton wrote the script so there is a fair bit of swearing...all depends what you want or don't want him to hear....
    But a great show anyway!!

I thought it was going to be about queen the band - wrong - it is just queen doing the backing music. I did enjoy it as I do like queen music. As above poster said it may go over your 8 year olds head but it is a good show.

  • I have seen the show and I thought the music was fantastic! Not too sure about the storyline though! I think most of the storyline will go over your childs head, but I think the opportunity to see live music like that should not be missed! It really puts a lot of our so called 'pop stars' to shame!

  • I went and saw it when I was about 11 and vaguely got the story... I have been to see it since as my school did schools will rock you, which is exactly the same just with out the swearing, not that there's much of it... but he'll definitely enjoy it if you go... the music is amazing, just bear in mind some of the lyrics have been altered to fit the story...
  • Absolutely take him! He will love it! I went to see it for the third time a couple of weeks ago. I believe that every child should get the chance to see music like that sung and played live. Yes, there is some swearing (most will prob go over his head) and the story itself is not the greatest, but just for the chance to see hear the music he should go. I got some half price tickets from the internet - just google 'half price we will rock you tickets' and there should be lots of websites selling them come up. There were quite a few empty seats when we went to (don't forget to bring your own sweets and drinks as they are pricey inside)

We went in large family group three years ago including my niece, who was then 7 and she loved it - and she's not even a Queen fan ;)

I went to see it a couple of months ago and the 5-year-old in the seat next to me LOVED IT ... his mum got him two booster cushions to sit on, but for most of the performance he was standing ... be aware they do push the (expensive) merchandise ... they even have bottles of water with the logo on!
