Fixing mixer shower to wall.

I'm just round at a friend's house plumbing in a mixer shower.
We've got an item like this:
http://www.screwfix.com/prods/83093/Bathrooms/Showers/Shower-Valves/Thermostatic-Bar-Mixer-Shower-Valve
It has eccentric adapters with 15mm compression fitting threads on the end.
So the pipework supports the mixer valve.
My question is: what supports the pipework?
I was assuming that we could use a wall mounted plate in our routed out hole, rather like the brackets that hold garage taps to the wall.
Rather like this:

That would be fine, or for a simple solution you can just use expanding foam! I love the stuff! Or another money saving solution is to use your offcuts of copper pipe, bash gently until almost flat and drill two holes, now you can use it as a bracket to hold the pipe work in place, works a treat :cool:0

Just re-read that and I assumed you were chasing in the pipework is that right? If not then just get some pipe fixings (screwfix) spend a bit more if they are going to be on show.0

Yes they or OK to use, just fix them to a timber stud, you will have to set them to the finnished wall surface, so best to also use with them is 1/2" female iron x copper. screw them into the backplates and you have greater adjustments.A thankyou is payment enough .0 -
It's a concrete block wall and we're chasing the pipes into it, so all that will be showing is the mixer and some chromed cover plates that go over the pipes where they go into the wall.
I found a solution, it took me 25 minutes looking round B&Q before I found a combination that would work:
15mm solder wall plates with 1/2" female thread.
1/2" male - male connector
1/2" female to 3/4" male adapter
the 3/4" mixer connectors then fit onto that.
After doing all that I then found that the eccentric adapters that came with the shower mixer actually seemed to thread straight onto the 1/2" wall plates. It's a pity that the instructions don't specify the thread. It might well be 1/2", in which case all I needed was the wall plates.
Either way, I've got two solutions now.
We've had a productive night - all the pipework under the bath has been done and I capped it off and put the mains back on with no leaks showing.Happy chappy0 -

Fix the pipes with a nail-on clips, then plaster over to secure. Make sure the pipes or protected by wrapping them in pvc tape.
And flush the pipes out before fitting the new shower valve.A thankyou is payment enough .0 -
Well, I've got it all in using the wall plates.Happy chappy0
