A friend is going to be undertaking a unique task of playing a round in all of the above for charity. He is over 70 years of age. Below is the challenge.

I will play one round at each of 4 courses; Carnalea in Northern Ireland; Helsby in Cheshire England; Hawarden in Flintshire Wales and Lockerbie in Scotland.

Every hole will be played in full without caddies, buggies or motorised trolleys; travel between courses will be by plane and car.

The venture will be self funded but SPONSORSHIP WOULD BE MOST WELCOME AND ALL DONATIONS WILL GO TO CHILDLINE, ST MARY’S HOSPICE or any Charity of the Sponsors choice (please state below)

Can anyone sugest how the income can easily be increased through gift aid sponshorship without it becoming asignificant administrative burden?

by limiting it to one or two charities, then including a simple gift aid statement and a tick box on sponsor forms would be fine. (you could then split the income equally between the two charities).

The problem is that for lots of charities you'd need separate forms for each, I think. The only other way would be for the person to create a simple form with a Gift aid statement on it, for the person to fill in the charity name and address to send it to. But this will create a big admin load.

Sorry I did not realise it would be of any charity of othe choice of the person sponsoring. Maybe a grant making trust would be a good idea.
