Esure reduced my contents cover on renewal

I insured for £30000 contents last year- esure's renewal quote has reduced this to £16670.

So I don't qualify for any of the like for like renewal quote offers with new companies.

Explains though why all the comparisons were coming out as more than esures renewal quote.

This happen to any other esure customers?

A lot of companies decide premiums on the number of bedrooms in your house.
I'm sure that you can find a better deal by looking round.

Esure does a weird thing where total cover is split between household goods ( furniture and whatnot) and high risk items (tellies and stuff) with the former always being two thirds of the total cover.
I'd imagine the £16000 sum is the household goods so your total cover will be about £25k
Esure doesn't change contents at renewal unless you ask them to so not sure why there's a difference. Your best bet is to give them a call
