Dell 968 AIO Printer - Wireless scanning/copying problem

I have just installed a Dell 968 AOI Printer over a wireless connection to my Dell deskop PC and Dell laptop. The desktop PC is running XP and the laptop is running Vista.

I am trying to use the scanning & copying facility on the printer to my laptop but am unable to get it to work. Everything is fine going from the printer to the desktop PC and I am also able to print from the laptop.

I have searched the internet and come across the following:

I have also contacted Dell Support, who said the following:

" I would like to inform you that to scan and copy wirelessly from Windows Vista you need OCR software for scanning and copying.

Please note that in Dell printer all in one software for Vista does not contain Scanner software. I would like to inform you that you have to purchase that software."

I have installed some free OCR software fom Simple OCR which has not solved the problem.

Has anyone had any experience of this printer or know what I should do to resolve the issue?
