You should be able to apply for a student account again once you start your masters degree providing it is a full time course.
My bank converted my account to a current account when I finished me degree and refused to convert it back to a student account with an interest free overdraft when I started the masters.
I explained if they did not provide the interest free overdraft as advertised I would not be submitting my grant and travel expense claim to the account and would take my custom elsewhere. Both members of staff when silent and buckled straight away.
Doubt very much that you would get the five year student rail card but you can pick up a form at your nearest railway station for a one year card. Get it replaced before you finish your course though and you should be able to get another year out of it.
Do note also that if you get a full time job offer towards the end of your taught Masters studies you should be able to submit your thesis after around 6 months rather than 3 months. Check your University calender or speak to your adviser of studies if you get a job offer. This was not made clear by my university.
Hope this helps.0 -
I should point out I had a £2000 overdraft accruing interest on the full balance and they still buckled. So they are pretty keen to keep you as a customer after your masters.0
