Do you have a trusted friend who's bank account you could have your June salary into? Then you could give your payroll dept the details on time.
My OH used to have his paid into his Natwest account and shortly before it got frozen, we switched his details with payroll to my old current account (got to do it on the 20-something-th of the month but, hey, I don't work in the payroll dept of his employer for nothing!)

That's a good idea. My ex OH got his salary paid into my account until he got his situation sorted. He was made bankrupt last year and we didn't know about this forum then and the Co-op Cashminder account!Debt 30k in 2008.:o Cleared all my debt in 2013 and loving being debt free

Well, I walked into HSBC this morning & walked out an hour later with my new bank account - nice one:D
The car's in for its MOT now though, so I'll wait to see what happens there before I do a celebratory lap of the village!0 -
Good luck with the car Homegrown_Idiot. Glad you've got the bank account sorted. I've got my car in for an MOT, service and timing belt change today. Doubt I'll get much change out of £400.0

dont worry too much about the phone calls, doesnt matter how many times you tell them to put things in writing they keep calling, however once your dmp is up and running they should stop. I havent had a call in over a year! If you new account is not open in time ask work for a cheque, as a last resort you can cash it at one of those cheque cashing places although it does cost!0

Hi, Homegrown
If your ex-forces there are lots of agencies that will help you if you are in distress. This has become more political recently following lots of media coverage about the treatment of the Armed Forces, and the large numbers of ex-service people who end up homeless.
A good place to start would be the British Legion http://www.britishlegion.org.uk/ or SAAFA Forces Help http://www.ssafa.org.uk/ they're good folk and will help in cases of financial distress. You should also contact your regimental association.
There is lots of support out there for people in your situation.
Good luck
any questions PM me
cheers
