I posted a while ago and put up my SOA, took people's advice and contacted CCCS.
They came up with a DMP where I would pay £210 instead of the over £800 I was trying (and failing) to pay. All good so far, BUT...

- I signed the CCCS paperwork two weeks ago and sent it back along with my payslip, bills etc but haven't heard anything back yet - does anyone know how long they usually take to set it all up? I'll be phoning them on Monday but I must admit I'm getting very nervous.
- The rate of phonecalls to me from creditors has gotten to a ridiculous level - I get at least 4 every hour now, despite me asking them to take my name of their databases and put everything in writing. It has now got to the point that, on Monday, I missed a call from my Dad to tell me my Mum had been taken to hospital (I just let the answering machine take all calls now and the memory fills up in one day). As my parents now live in Spain the telephone is the only quick way to get hold of me.
- I can't go to Spain to see my Mum in hospital as I can't afford it.
- My car (that I need for work) goes in for it's MOT on Monday and I know it needs some work doing. Which will cost me money I haven't got, but I can't do without the car.
- I rent my house but my landlord has decided to sell it. That means I need to find somewhere else to live - not easy when I have a dog (most landlords won't take dogs) and I work in London. PLUS the chances of me passing a credit check for renting again must be nonexistant now - and I couldn't save up for any security deposit anyway. Never mind the costs of moving.
- One of my creditors is the bank my pay goes into. I went to Nationwide to open a basic account but they say it will take 3 weeks to set up and my company tells me that I need to tell them the new bank details in the FIRST week of the month for them to change it! My pay for June is going to go into an account that I KNOW is going to be frozen!

Hi homegrown, try not to worry, they will be ringing you!
Have you sent a token payment to each of your creditors saying that you are now with CCCS and waiting for your DMP to be sorted?
I think there are templates on here somewhere (we'll find em don't worry!)
And that you will only correspond in writing!
When they phone tell them that you will only correspond in writing and then hang up!

You could consider going into shared accomodation, ie shared house. Its not the nicest thing in the world, but i searched around and got a fantasic one with ensuite bthroom, and a little fridge etc in my room, beautiful modern house, right in the city centre where im living for £400 a month? I know it might be a stepdown from what you've been used to but honestly it will save you money in the long run. Most landlords (private) dont bother with credit checks, and some are even lenient with deposits.
Try a site such as http://uk.easyroommate.com/. Its free to sign up although you need to pay to send messages, although there is ways round it. As you live in London try gumtreee as well, cos theres always loads on there.
hope this helps xThinking it over...:o0 -
Hi homegrown. Have you thought of getting a basic account with HSBC. If you go into the branch you can open it straight away and they'll give you your account number and sort code before you leave.0
-
another think that may help is halifax will open a basic account and tell you the sortcode and account number so you can arrange for wages to go in before actually having the cards. The pre paid meastro cards do similar i think.MF aim 10th December 2020 :j:eek:MFW 2012 no86 OP 0/20000

Think the above poster could be a troll. Probably the one that posted as Bank of Slade yesterday. Seems to like copying other users names.Debt 30k in 2008.:o Cleared all my debt in 2013 and loving being debt free

Thanks all.
What troll? I ignore spineless people like that. Plus of course the idiot did the job of jumping my thread up to the top of the list.. so thanks troll:p
I've got an HSBC in my village so I'll pop in on Monday after I drop the car off for it's MOT (fingers crossed for that).
I would house-share, I've got no problem with that, after all I spent 10 years in barracks before I got married - but then there's the dog again, not many (if any) people would like to share with a dog. Especially as she was trained by the RAF Police!0 -
I opened a basic Natwest Step account on line which comes with a Solo card. Don't know if Natwest is one of your creditors though.
Can't really offer any advice, hope it all works out for you and your dog. Good luck.Debt 30k in 2008.:o Cleared all my debt in 2013 and loving being debt free
