I feel that sometimes people assume I am not a nice person because I work for an OR's office, and the only comments I see on this board about the OR are negative. Sometimes people say the interview was ok but thats rare. Its disgusting if people are being forced into IPAs they cannot really afford, in my experince that does not happen. I spend more time suggesting expenses that the customers has not included and can honestly say i have never co-erced a bankrupt into agreeing to an IPA. For when that does happen there is the 14 days cooling off period.
I try and treat all my customers with dignity and respect. Of course there will be differences of opinion, long may that continue! I know that I could be bankrupt one day, it can happen to anyone and everyone. I am just grateful we live in a country with bankruptcy legislation. The legislation is far from perfect but better than nothing.
With respect to the online register, I was of the understanding that entries are removed from the EIIR 3 months after the discharge date.

If the information is elsewhere more than 3 months after discharge that is wrong and should be reported to someone.
Bankruptcy is a civil matter, not a criminal matter, there should not be the stigma and fear associated with it. I had not realised how important ED is from an emotional point of view. I will try to bear that in mind. I was thinking based on a staff & time resources consideration. The OR's offices may not have enough staff to admister the ED with incoming cases rising so rapidly.
There are lots of great advisors on here, fermi, Debt Doctor, Richard S etc, so I think I should spend some time sorting my own finances and with my family. Our income is being squeezed too!
Watch out for a BBC tv programme documentary about bankruptcy, currently being filmed.
All the best.
You already know what i think A2C;) All the best and hope you choose to come back when you can:TThats it, i am done, Blind-as-a-Bat has left the forum, for good this time, there is no way I can recover this account, as the password was random, and not recorded, and the email used no longer exits, nor can be recovered to recover the account, goodbye all ………….

2.Is automatic discharge at 1 year really that much different or worse than ED at say 6 or 9 months?
3.I would like to see the whole ED scrapped from the Enterprise Act.
1. As your not a BR you wouldnt (but you are entitled to your opinion)
2. Yes, from a BR's perspective (I see the yorkshire ripper wants parole...)
3. Well its in the AOP for a reason, if you really oppose it you need to speak to your MP.
