i need a new camcorder

hi all
i need a new camcorder,normally have high end sonys but they only last 2yrs or so and then they have things go wrong with them, (had 5 over the yrs)
this time i'm just looking for a good camcorder just want to more or less point and shoot
want a small one that fits into pocket, must have 30x optical lense (film kids other end of beach,etc)
was looking at the jvc mz30 (i think) £250,but was put off by a review i read on web site
anyone got any suggestions or any links to camcorder reviews, been looking for camcorder mags in the shops (to see there reviews) but they don't appear to be any mags any more
