Euro 2008 begins on June 7 but you can enter your team of 11 now and shuffle players in and out and change formations right up to 17.00 June 6. You can also enter once the action is under way and make a limited number of changes to your team right up to the final.

As boss of your own team you can choose from any player in any squad at Euro 2008. As this is international football their value is measured in stars not pounds, with each team allowed to be worth a maximum of 75 stars.
But if you're more of a hands-off manager, you can simply press a button and have the computer pick your team for you. Easy.

By registering to participate in Metro's Free Fantasy Euro Championship game (referred to as the “Game" hereafter) you hereby agree to be bound by and to abide by the following terms and conditions ("Terms and Conditions").
HOW TO ENTER
1. Metro's Free Fantasy Euro Championship game is offered by Metro, a division of Associated Newspapers Limited whose registered office address is at Northcliffe House, 2 Derry Street, London, N8 5TT, and run by Silentworld Limited ('the Company'), whose trading office address is at Queens Park Villa, 30 West Drive, Brighton, Sussex, BN2 0QW.
2. You must register with Metro in order to be able to play the Game. All applications to participate in the Game must be made online via the Metro website at https://www.metro.co.uk (the “Metro Website”) and be in accordance with the relevant instructions. No applications to enter made in any other manner will be accepted. Applications are at the discretion of Metro and once accepted an applicant is entitled to participate in the Game and shall be known as a "Manager". There is no limit on the number of entries per household or organisation, however only one entry per person may be submitted. Any additional entries by one person will be made invalid. If you do not provide your real name when registering, you may not be able to claim any prize for which you would otherwise be eligible. Entries submitted under the same email address will be considered as multiple entries and are not allowed, and will not qualify for any prizes. Anybody believed to have entered more than one team will be disqualified, removed from the game and will not be eligible to win prizes.
3. No purchase necessary. Entry to the Game is free.
4. The Game is scheduled to run from 7th June 2008 to 29th June 2008. There is no closing date for entries, however Metro will publish deadlines on this website by which applicants must have registered as Managers in order to qualify for points awarded in respect of particular matches. You will only be able to score points for matches if you have registered as a Manager by the published deadline for that match. Points will not be backdated for matches that occurred before you registered as a Manager.
5. Entry into the Game is open to UK and the Republic of Ireland residents aged 18 years or over only. Employees (and their immediate families) of Associated Newspapers Ltd and Silentworld Ltd, any of their subsidiaries, group companies and/or agencies or any person professionally connected to the Game are ineligible to enter and any entry submitted by any such person will be invalid. Proof of eligibility must be provided on request.
6. Entries must not be submitted by agents or third parties and any such entries will be deemed void. Entries correctly submitted through the Metro Website will result in an acceptance message on the registration page confirming your team details. In addition to the team details, a username (email address) and password will be confirmed to you by email. During registration you will be sent an email containing an activation code which you must use to validate your entry and start building your team. The computer's record of each entry will be deemed to be the entry. No responsibility can be accepted for entries which do not comply with these Terms and Conditions and the Game Rules nor for entries which are lost, delayed, incomplete or not received by Metro for any reason, including any technological, hardware or software failures or as a result of high traffic volumes on the internet. Proof of submitting an entry will not be regarded as proof of receipt of such entry by Metro.
GAME RULES
7. The rules of the Game ("Game Rules") form part of these Terms and Conditions. The Game Rules are published on the Metro Website. In the case of conflict between the Game Rules and these Terms and Conditions, the Terms and Conditions shall prevail. Metro reserves the right to alter, amend or supplement the Game Rules from time to time on reasonable notice as it sees fit in its absolute discretion in the event of any circumstances beyond its control arising or where it considers on a reasonable basis that it is desirable to ensure the smooth running of the Game or to protect the Managers. You agree that Metro is not liable to you for any loss suffered as a result of any such amendment to the Game Rules. All changes to the Game Rules will be posted on the Game Rule section of the website. You are therefore advised to check the Game Rules regularly. Any breach by any Manager of the Game Rules shall be a breach of these Terms and Conditions. Only the registered user may make transfers (or changes) to his or her team. Please note: anyone found to be managing a team that does not belong to them, on behalf of another Manager or without their knowledge, will be removed and not eligible to win prizes.
7.1 MINI LEAGUES
A Manager may only 'Chair' (create) 1 mini-league and can join up to 9 mini leagues. Therefore one Manager can only belong to 10 mini-leagues. Any attempt to become a part of more than 10 mini-leagues will result in removal from the Game i.e.: registering several times using different email addresses.
Where four or more managers from one mini-league are found to be competing in another mini-league, this will constitute duplication and will result in the managers concerned being declared ineligible for the League of Leagues prize.
Mini-Leagues where one user manages all of the teams in that one mini-league will NOT be eligible to win prizes as this is considered unsporting conduct.
For a mini-league to qualify for the League of Leagues competition it must have a minimum of 10 managers registered within it.
The League of Leagues competition will only be entered by mini-leagues who qualify with the minimum number of teams by 16th June 2008, which is 10 days after the scheduled start of the tournament. All mini-leagues set up, or with the required number of teams achieved after this date do not qualify for entry in to the League of Leagues competition. Winners will be notified by e-mail within 28 days of winning.
After the cut-off date of the 16th of June 2008, players may still join a mini league and compete within it, but their score will not contribute towards the average score of the mini league in the league of leagues competition.
TEAM NAMES AND SELECTION OF PLAYERS
8. Team names cannot exceed 50 characters in length. Metro reserves the right to reject team names or league names which are deemed to be inappropriate, offensive, confusing, defamatory or which infringe any rights of third parties. Any names so rejected must be changed within seven days of notification by Metro or the Manager will be disqualified from the Game and will not be eligible to win any prize related to the Game.
9. You must pick a team of 11 footballers from the 16 nations competing in 2008 Euro Championships. Only the footballers listed in the Metro's Free Fantasy Euro Championship game Player Lists may be selected.
Your team must consist of 11 footballers (strikers, midfielders, defenders, and a goalkeeper). The position of any player is stated in the Player List. The total cost of your team cannot exceed the 75 star budget at any time. The Player List will be updated as players leave and join teams throughout the course of the tournament (however, player values will not change throughout the Game). No correspondence will be entered into regarding the Player List or the values attributed to any particular footballer player.
TRANSFERS
10. Unlimited transfers are available before 17:00BST on 6th June 2008. After this time, three transfers are allocated in the following manner:
Group stages:
Each team will receive 3 transfers every day during the group stages of the competition (7th June – 18th June 2008). Transfers will be allocated at 00.01 (UK time) each day and should be used to make changes to your team during that day. Any unused transfers may not be carried over to the next day.
Quarter-Finals:
Each team will be allocated 10 transfers for the quarter-final matches (19th June – 22nd June 2008). These 10 transfers should be used to cover all 4 matches in this round and will be applied to your team at 00.01 (UK time) on 19th June 2008. Any unused transfers may not be carried over to the next round.
Finals:
Each team will then be allocated a total of 5 transfers for the finals at 00.01 (UK time) on 23rd June 2008 for the final knock-out stages of the competition (25th June – 29th June 2008). These 5 transfers cover the semi-finals and European Championships final.
All teams will score points from the matches played after the team is selected and received by the deadline of the published kick-off time for any match. Time of transfers will be recorded as per the server clock (displayed in the top right hand side of the screen). Player points scored from matches played earlier will not be added. Teams will not score points until they have been submitted. If Managers do not use their maximum allocation of transfers for each month, they cannot carry over the unused transfers into the next month.
PRIZES
11. The Game has a total prize pool of £15,000, which will be distributed in the following manner:
a) Overall prizes:
The highest scoring manager at the end of the tournament will win £10,000. Final scores will be calculated after the Game ends which is scheduled to be on 29th June 2008
b) Team of the Round Prize:
The highest scoring manager of each round of group games will win £1000.
The Rounds are as follows:
Round 1: Saturday 7th June – Tuesday 10th June
Round 2: Wednesday 11th June – Saturday 14th June
Round 3: Sunday 15th June – Wednesday 18th June
c) Team of the Quarter Final:
The highest scoring manager after the quarter final (19th June - 22nd June) will win £1,000!
d) Team of the Semi and Final combined:
The highest scoring manager of the semi-final and final combined (25th June - 29th June) will win £1,000.
12. In the event that two or more teams have the same points, the manager that registered first will be deemed the winner. Only one team of the round prize may be won per entrant in the case of a second prize being won the prize will defer to the next eligible entrant.
13. No alternative prizes will be offered and all the prizes are non-transferable.
14. The judges' decision will be final and no correspondence will be entered into. Metro reserves the right to amend the prize pool and allocation at any time during the Game.
POINTS
15. The players included on the player list and their positional classifications have been determined by Silentworld Ltd. Silentworld Ltd will not enter into any correspondence relating to details of the player list, nor will they accept the inclusion into a team.
16. Players will score points as follows:

Silentworld Ltd will use the latest scores reported by key news agencies to use as the basis of the fantasy scoring criteria. Reversed decisions will not be counted, (therefore if a red card or own-goal decision is reversed / altered after the initial reporting on the game, the original score will remain). Points will only be corrected if the initial reporting was incorrect.
17. The points are updated within a 24 hour period.
18. The collective performance record of how each football player on the Metro's Free Fantasy Euro Championship game Player List will be published on the Metro Website.
19. Metro will not enter into any correspondence relating to the allocation of points to players. We accept no responsibility for the accuracy of this data.
USE OF THE MINI-LEAGUE EMAIL FACILITY FOR THE GAME --
20. Any communication via the email facilities provided within the Game is subject to usual Metro communications rules.
GENERAL
21. In the event of any breach by any applicant and/or any Manager of these Terms and Conditions (including the Game Rules) or conduct contrary to the spirit of the Terms and Conditions and the intention of the Game, the Editor of Metro reserves the right to refuse entry to the relevant applicant, to disqualify the Manager in question from any further participation in the Game and to declare as void any and all claims or entries based on such conduct. Any applicant so refused and/or Manager so disqualified shall not be eligible to participate in the Game under any other identity or team name and shall not be entitled to receive any prize related to the Game. The Editor of Metro further reserves the right in his reasonable discretion to (a) declare as void any entries or claims resulting from any printing, production and/or online display errors; and/or (b) add to or waive these Terms and Conditions on reasonable notice; and/or (c) cancel the Game or any part of it at any stage in the event of circumstances beyond Metro's reasonable control.
22. Winner(s) will be notified of their success via the contact details provided on their entry form within seven days of the judges' decision, and should be sent their prize within 30 days of that date. Failure by a winner to claim the prize or provide inappropriate contact details will make any claim invalid. Prizes will not be re-offered or deferred.
23. The names of all winner(s) will be published on the Metro Website during the Game and at the end of the Game. Winner(s) must co-operate for publicity purposes if required by Metro. Managers' names and addresses and the winners' photographic images and their comments relating to any prize may be used without limitation for the future promotional, marketing and publicity purposes of Metro in any and all media worldwide without notice to them and without any fee being paid.
All prizes are fulfilled by Metro and are not the responsibility of the operator of the Game, Silentworld Ltd. Non-fulfilment of prizes must be taken up with the Metro, whilst Silentworld Ltd will endeavour to ensure that all prizes are fulfilled within 3 months of the Game completion, Silentworld Ltd cannot be held responsible for non-fulfilment of prizes.
24. All values ascribed to football players in the Player List carry no real-life value.
25. Any personal data relating to Managers will be used by Metro and Silentworld Ltd solely in accordance with current data protection legislation. In addition Metro will only use personal data relating to Managers in accordance with its privacy policy. By entering the Game and accepting these Terms and Conditions, you agree to receive regular email updates. You have the choice to opt-out of receiving the emails by using the unsubscribe link on the email communications.
26. Copyright in the Game Rules and points structure of the Game is the sole property of Silentworld Ltd other than as strictly necessary for a Manager to take part in the Game, no information or material relating to the Game may be reproduced or transmitted in any form without the prior written consent of Silentworld Ltd.
27. Metro do not accept any liability for losses suffered by you as a result of your participation in the Game nor for any losses resulting from your inability to access the Game via the Metro Website (including without limitation not being able to register transfers by the applicable deadlines as detailed on the Metro Website). Metro and Silentworld Ltd agree to use their reasonable endeavours to maintain the Game website in a fully operating condition and error free. As neither Metro and Silentworld Ltd can guarantee that the Game website will always be fully operational or error free they do not accept responsibility for any defects that may exist or for any costs or losses arising from your use of or inability to access the Game website.
28. The Editor of Metro’s decision is final with respect to all aspects of and operation of the Game, including without limitation, decisions as to the inclusion and value of particular football players on the Player List, the number of points awarded to or deducted from any particular football player. No correspondence regarding the conduct of the Game will be entered into.

30. These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by the laws of England and Wales and the courts of England shall have exclusive jurisdiction in respect of any claim or dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms and Conditions.

32. The use of the term Euro '08, European Championship, UEFA or any reference to official European Championship nations or players, or reference on the Site and within the Game is purely to describe the nature of the content and Game being provided in this Site. No official or commercial association with the UEFA Euro 2008 or the Championship organising committee is implied or intended.

I've registered and selected a team bit confused though because it suggests you need to enter the activation code that's emailed before you can select players, but my email came after I'd picked the players and I've not seen anywhere to enter the code at all
