Options
Question from a non-DFW [lurker] to DFW powers that be:

Why is there no 'top of page' clicky for the SOA?

    Do you mean sticky?

I thought there was, I'm off to have a look.

I thought it was there, its the 5th sticky down, and its not obvious either, I do think it should be a sticky on its own, Mrs Tine, what do you think (Shes the BG)

I'd happily write a "How to Use the SOA Calculator post" if that would be useful.... or to provide some input for someone else to write one.

Yes it's bit buried - I wanted to post a link to it for a DFW newbie and it takes a lot of faffing around to find it.

Whilst I was looking for it, it just occurred to me that it's one of the first things a newbie is asked for, so it would be so easy to tell them to go to a clicky.

I agree with you, I'm not sure how one gets a sticky put on the board.

I think its put in there to get the newbie to read about posting etc, but some are in desperate need and just need to post without reading all that guff..Its too much for some of the newbies to take in.

You've hit the nail on the head and ..... :o some of us who don't navigate the DFW board very often, but want to help newbies, could do without it too :rotfl: .

Maybe PM Mrs Tine, she is the BG for DFW and suggest it, shes a frequent poster too, so she may well see this thread tomorrow.

It was the other board guide, nearlyrich, who made the SOA Feedback thread a sticky. I think a simple post that gave the link and explained how to use it would be a good idea for a sticky.

I agree - often when helping newbies, I find myself saying "someone will be along shortly who will give you the link"

When what I should be saying is "if you look at the top of the board........."

I hope that it can be made more easily available!

thanks, Clariman, for your help with the SOA - it seems to be working really well!
