Travel Insurance - Proof of ownership??

I'm looking for travel insurance for our Europe camping trip and want some half decent baggage cover in case anything gets stolen etc. However they all state that you need proof of ownership for all you items...what constitutes proof of ownership? Obviously I don't keep the receipt for my digital camera I bought 5 years ago, but would a photo of the camera suffice?? Any ideas on getting this proof of ownership without receipts??
I'm not too worried about the odd one item getting stolen as individually each item isn't that expensive. But my main concern is am I covered if we get back to the tent/car and they've been ransacked - then the cumlative cost would be quite substantial.

Just found out that all my stuff is covered under my home contents 'unspecified items away from home' globally! Without the need for receipts! Some proof of ownership is good, but a photo of all my stuff prior to departure would be more than sufficient! Budget Home Insurance gets the thumbs up!0

For proof of ownership it can be things like the warranty on your applicane, the appliance handbook, packaging, photos eg a picture of you wearing your coat or in your skis, statment of your credit card or bank statment itself showing the payment made, cheque stubs.... quite a lot in there!0
