2 million pounds bonus!! Don't choke on your dinner!! Nice work if you can get it - ah yes, but that would be down to us selling on eBay right and sending so many parcels!! Moreso since the launch of advertising in the UK for eBay..... and he thinks it is down to him that the Post Office is doing so well, I think not! More like the likes of us eBayers being ble to work from home - maybe he will be getting his P45 when we all have to leave work next year and the Post Office loses out on all this extra revenue!
  • Blimey I'd not realised the thickness limit was going to be only 25mm. #

I sell plenty of books on Amazon and Greenmetroplis and I would say that half of the books I sell would be over this 25mm limit and half under.

It's going to hit my profits big time in the short term until my stock is reduced - then I'll be very careful to only sell thin books!!!

Well, I got the new charges through the post and I am stunned at the outrageous prices that will come in from next year.

I sell underwear and sending a bra is going to go up from 46/64/79p to 94/119/206. I an slowly coming to terms with the fact that this time next year it looks like I'll have no business unless someone comes along and offers a better rate - who is going to pay £2.50 for a bra to be sent within the UK?? I am stunned and gutted - as well of course as being utterly p***ed off that the Royal Mail are forcing me away from home business. I choose to work from home so I can bring up my children (both of whom are under 3). I will have 2 choices, get a childminder and go out to work or give up work and have very little money to speak of.

Well, don't take my word for it - judge for yourselves.....

You will need to look under the 'More Information' section and then click 'here' for details on the postage rates. Sellers, prepare to be shocked, buyers, I wouldn't bother, I'll be off to the shops instead I guess!! Oh, and the biggest parcel you can send is 750g!!

    C xx

Well it's unfortunate, and you will all hate me for this, but part of me may be happy.

I went to the village post office to get some car tax, and had to wait for about 35 minutes while some e-bayer, sent all of his 80 plus packages, which all had to be weighed separately, etc. The queues were huge and we were all p'd off. At least have the courtesy to buy some scales, weigh and put stamps on at home. save some time for the rest of us post office users.
NO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!

IF that was my post office then you won't be able to buy your tax disc there in future as it will have been closed. The only reason some of the smaller post offices remain open is that they have the volume of post going through them to make them profitable. No profit, no post office.

Ebayers are the lifeblood of small businesses, my local PO welcomes us with open arms, they even set up a little open counter with new scales and a wider opening for parcels just for us so we don't have the problem of trying to talk to someone behind glass.

If we stuck out stamps on at home the volume of mail wouldn't register to them, they need their machines that print the labels to show how many transactions they do daily.

I understand, and I only have to get my tax once a year. I would do the same if I could think of anything to sell. Still 80 parcels is a lot of time n'est pas?
