If it wasn't a present for the bride 0 -
Visit a greengrocer and ask for some boxes, a lot of their produce comes in these thin stackable card crates that should hold one layer of cakes each. I'd be cautious about anything like paper or cling film covering them, icing, even if it seems dry, can decide to stick to things.
I'd also make a few spares just in case a few get damaged.0 -
Just to say many thanks everyone - all the cakes arrived safely, packed into a drawer and cress boxes, with baking parchment to cover. Well, nearly all - the bride and maid of honour picked them up for me and apparently two cupcakes were damaged and had to be eaten straight away :rolleyes:0
