Gone Capped...
I have just finished checking out a few different Energy Suppliers and have decided to stay with N.Power. They incially told me I would have to pay 7% on top if I wanted to be capped until 2011, but on speaking to them today, that didn't seem to be the case? I agreed to finally come out of the shadow of the quarterly bill and go onto D/Debit, they told me that my monthly amounts (Dual) they quoted me wouldn't have to have the 7% on top? I may be paying a little more for my Electric than I would have done with British Gas, but I think being capped until 2011 is a pretty good deal? No other Energy Supplier has a 2011 Cap offer and your not locked in to the deal anyway so you can always change if a better deal comes along. I certainly can't see it coming down anytime soon so only time will tell if I made the right choice... The only mistake I made was not going through one of Martins recommended switch sites so I could benefit a little more, DOH!

Hi Nikkei,I work for Npower and if you are on our Fixed 2011 deal, you will be paying 7% more than you are doing now if you are on the standard tariff.Ring Customer Services and double check that they haven't put you on the deal that is only fixed until March 2009.0845 6060646It sounds as if there might have been some confusion between the two deals. And PLEASE do it today or tomorrow as, although this is only my own personal opinion, it might well be us that are withdrawing the fixed deal on Monday.0

ContraryMary, do you want to explain npower tariff years, oops i mean a year being a few to several months, paying upto a max of 4572 kwh tier 1 per few to several months? instead of stated contract of 4572 kwh tier 1 a year (12 months) and currently investigated by ofgem, energywatch with mass media coverage. also npower admitting they have over charged in a 12 month period, but will not refund / admit liability, hence now customers are taking them to court.
Also if you are in a home area of npower ie. yorkshire / midlands, you would be better fixing your prices somewhere else as the prices are quite expensive in those areas.
anyway trust npower to give an 0845.
here is an 0800 general customer service.

c0113tts, as much as I would love to be able to right all the wrongs that you mention, I'm simply a mere employee who posted on this thread to try to help Nikkei. However, I'm sure all your required explanations will be forthcoming when Energywatch and Ofgem have finalised their investigations.0

ContraryMary - I'm currently not an NPower customer - is the capped rate at +7% on the standard rate available to new customers switching ?0
-
Yes littleboo. It's available to new and existing customers who pay by monthly direct debit, and take out dual fuel, or a single electricity fuel.0

I've just phoned them and tried to get my rate capped - but all their systems are down, apparently, and I've got to ring back on Monday. I asked if I'll still be able to do it then, or would the offer have finished by then - but was told I will still be able to arrange it.
Fingers crossed!:j Almost 2 stones gone! :j
:heart2: RIP Clio 1.9.93 - 7.4.10 :heart2:I WILL be tidy, I WILL be tidy!

The official date for the plug being pulled on Fixed 2011 is July 31st. But obviously MSE Martin's comment on GMTV have caused a few whispers as to who is pulling the deal on Monday! Hopefully, it won't be us.0

I fixed my rate with n power as an existing customer this week. It was not hte cheapest offer but meant that i did not have to clear the balance on the accounts to transfer to another company and as I have just had the bills that cover the period form last nov i would have had to repay about £200.00, I am happy though that i have a fixed rate.0

Hello ContraryMary,
hope you can answer my problem with NPower, Im on the SOL 4 tarrif and I phoned to ask to go capped till 2011 and they said that it will be 7% higher
and that I would then be paying around £200 more per year which seemed very high to me.
My bills are at the moment £400pa for Electric and £430pa for Gas making £830 per year
Do you think this sounds right?
many thanks0
