Mono MP3 Radio recording

Can any of you help, I would love to listen to radio downloads on an MP3 player but I have a deaf ear and would need to listen in mono so I don't lose half of the broadcast. Is this possible?
Is it possible to record from the internet via listen again onto an SD card for listening away from the computer?

hi - not sure about the best way of recording the radio shows (sure someone else will know) but you can convert a normal MP3 file to mono using free software such as dBPowerAmp Converter (see here: http://www.dbpoweramp.com/) so once you have the file that shouldn't be a problem.

thanks for the link, I am such a newbie that I will have to enlist the help of my son right now, but the site is great for me to ask loads of Q's and learn. Would still like to know how / if it is possible.to record radio from computer.
  • You can get info HERE about recording internet radio broadcasts onto your pc. Just a matter of converting them then.

Hmmm, have just read that site, and it seems $30 for the software
I do remember at one time having sofware which 'grabbed' audio as it streamed, and it was free, but I'm afraid it's Friday night, and I'm already too drunk to want to try and rememer the name of it. Hopefully someone else knows the name. Otherwise I'll spend all day tomorrow racking my brain trying to remember the name of it.

    lol at bingo :)

quick google brought back this guide on how to record streaming audio (which is what the radio will be), see http://radio.about.com/cs/recordingstreams/ht/RecordStreams.htm

they also give a step by step on how to use the software (free or shareware) that they mention and there are 'further reading' links down the page.
