New House, No Bills, Which Supplier???
Hello Everyone
Sorry if this is a really stupid question but I'm looking for some advice about gas and electric switching. We have just brought a probate house and all I know is that we are with British Gas and Southern Electric. Looking at old bills is not an option as 1) we don't have any 2) we are installing central heating so the bills will be very different anyway 3) there will be 5 people living there instead of 1.
So my question is how do I know who the best supplier to choose is? I have listened to Martins advice and would like to cap now before we even move in so we don't miss out on the capped deals, but comparason sites all want to know what our usage is and I have no idea.
Does anyone know if I can do this accuratly without having the figures?
Thanks Lou

Without accurate consumption figures you cannot expect an accurate cost calculation.
Not all comparison sites need actual usage figures to give you a guide. uSwitch for one will give you a guide based on the property, how many occupants and the type of usage. But it is only a guide..."Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100
