I must admit, I only use graphs for my energy usage...
I do record all the figures (in your spread sheet), but have never thought about using graphs... Though it does seem a good idea...

Thanks for the confirmation that graphs are useful here too.
I forgot to mention that we've had this quarter's mortgage statements through for 17 March to 16 June:
Interest paid (total) £12.34
Total interest if not offset £161.37 so £149.03 saved in interest.
For the basic OP of £211 per month NatWest predict MF date August 2012 - vs June 2016 (remember original 25yr term was to October 2019).
But we OP by a further £200 per month, plus we Offset, and we'll drop a large amount from savings to clear it just as soon as we have a "minimum" excess in saving and current account to carry us forward.
Then there will £650 a month to go straight to savings plus the £300 we already pay into the S&S Funds ISAs, plus saving from no redundancy insurance or life term assurance on mortgage.... In theory we should be able to save about £1900 every month (although some of this is then spent quickly like annual holiday) :j:j:j BUT, this includes the target £912 we should be able to save each month now and we're not due to unforeseen costs so I need to look to ensure this £1900 per month is realistic
However with £16k owing, 100% offset (this week), plus our S&S Funds ISAs are "only" down 22.3% compared to where they were in December 2008 (see post yesterday) I hope this is now bringing things round to a good position for us and sets us up for some good gains in the markets and (sorry folks!) with the expected increase in interest rates from say, mid-2010 then climbing back to a base rate of 5% by 2012, for savings too.0 -

So do I when they slope the right way :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:0 -
Graphs - naw, too geeky for me
Apart from the mortgage progress chart.....
and excel piccie of house that gets a square coloured in for every £1000.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

It feels like we're doing this full scale... in our house we’ve finished painting (colouring in) one room and stripped the wallpaper off another (so technically that's changed colour too) and with the new plants and lawn looking greener than when we moved in (more colouring in)... Roughly these rooms and the garden equates to the proportion of the house we own!!!MFW: Nov 2008 £156k, Jun 2015 £129k, Jun 2017 £114k.0 -
Good to hear of the various motivational tools being applied in practice.
The colour laser printer order Sunday from Oyyy via TopCashBack was processed Sunday, dispatched Monday and arrived today (thanks to a neighbour receiving it!). Great service for a 3-5day delivery I think. Also the TBC tracking was in place late afternoon Monday. Will definitely ise them again.
Have been setting up laser printer this evening, but found I didn't have the spare RJ45 network cable I thought was around
Anyway disconnected network attached storage so I could be sure printer would set up ok and lovely it is too! Just ordered from Play.com two 5m CAT 6 cables as there is cashback from TBC, good pricing (no p&p) and will deliver to work.0 -
DD needed some photos printing for her school project; output from the new laser colour printer is excellent even on plain paper. DD and OH very impressed :T
Just taken the electricity and gas meter readings for past two weeks. Day time electricity and gas usage have again dropped, night rate electricity remains about the same. The averages therefore are dropping and hopefully after end of September we should at worse, be close to 2007/8 values. With some sound data in place we can then look at improvements against this in future.0
