Well Done Stuart!!

Everyone, thanks for your kind words and on-going support and encouragement in my endeavors, and your tenacity in reading this thread
Interest earned was added today; 34p net of tax for the month. Next month we'll move back to some times when the offset position is not net positive, but I hope it won't be for too long.
Have a great weekend everyone, weather forecast looks good here for Saturday and Sunday.0 -
My salary will be paid on Tuesday and then I'll look forward over projected spend to 26 June when I'm pad again (OH on 15 June) because the massive cc bill will be paid out 10 June.
This means moving funds from the savings account to the current account - in reality it makes not a lot of difference due to offsetting but psychologically it "hurts" to draw funds down even though the reason is the holiday for which we save anyway!!
Of course we are also incurring extra costs this month with the treat of being away in York in the Novotel and my car insurance costs. Both on the cc so payment will be due 10 July.
Still, once that's sorted we can then look forward to the rest of the year financially.
OH was very happy with the cattery near us, so he'll be there a few days when we're up in York and then for the two weeks whilst we're in Mexico. At £6.50 per day it seems a reasonable rate. I've listed this latter against the holiday costs. Just need I think now to arrange the chauffeur to/from airport and then it's a stock up on items to take
I do need to get the video camera checked out; batteries may need replacing as they don't get used often so capacity is down. Actually I've been deferring spend on new video editing software and haven't created last year's DVD for the holiday. I know it MSE but it is also a bit lazy isn't it?
Well another good day outside, gardens starting to look a bit better but more to do.0 -
Just booked a two night stay away in September as we have to attend a family wedding near Monmouth. Looked up options and Travelodge was £51 per night for the room, plus we'd need breakfast for 3 and it only has a Little Chef adjacent (£25 all in for breakfast?); we'll arrive late in the evening the first night so not at all ideal to then go "out" to find somewhere to eat.
Did a further check and found a very well rated Inn on Laterooms which is £85 for the family room inc breakfast (and this time I did remember to use TopCashBack to go to their site for the booking! So that's 5% back too). The restaruant is given a very good review so hope that'll fill us on the Friday night and for the two breakfasts we'll have there.
OH has been ill with a heavy cold since yesterday which knocked out plans to be on a trip out Sunday. Hope she is better before we leave for York. I'm a little anoyed at the weather forecast which had stated heavy/thundery showers this afternoon which haven't appeared, could have planned to do things outside....0 -

Stuart! How can you be annoyed about that (unless you have a stately garden in dire need of some water?!) Could you not just do them anyway?
... but mainly wanted to say 'Hi'; haven't read for a while but see you are doing incredibly well and family health is improving which is great.0 -
Let it rain!!!
Saves me watering the veggie patch... water butt ran dry earlier this weekend and haven't fitted the drain pipe connector yet! It'll save me money if it rains as we're on a meter and I'd have to fill the watering can from the outside tap.
Hope Mrs S feeling better for York.MFW: Nov 2008 £156k, Jun 2015 £129k, Jun 2017 £114k.0 -
Our garden is in need of rain; clay soil plus we have along one boundary the old field hedgerow (two ash trees, loads of hawthorn) and it's as dry under that as it would be in mid-summer. In fact this is one of the issues we have; we love the hedgerow and privacy mature trees provide but it is very difficult to grow things beneath. Some species do manage so we are stuck with a limited range.
LE - no it is not a stately garden :rotfl::rotfl:
MRN - likewise our water butt is depleted but the adapter we have fitted to the down pipe only diverts until the butt is full, then it flows over the "weir" and down to waste. May be worth you looking for this type?0 -

Sounds exactly the same as the one I bought. Was too busy painting shelves outside so that they could dry in the warm weather instead of in the house to fit connector today. Nevermind, maybe a mid-week mini project... was it hard to fit?MFW: Nov 2008 £156k, Jun 2015 £129k, Jun 2017 £114k.0 -

Not you TPA, your wine - although the chances of you having any left come Sept are pretty remote I would have thought :rotfl:A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0
