    A brief update:
    1) Mortgage interest charged this month £3.27 :D
    2) Interest earned on offset account £0.02 - not quite sure what to spend it "all" on!

Actually it is nice to see that the short periods we are positive on the offset are feeding back in terms of a little interest but of course the big win here is the low monthly interest cost for the mortgage. My salary should be paid in on Friday so for a brief spell all will be very nicely positive because there is about £1500 of expenses sat in the current account waiting to pay a very hefty credit card bill on 11 May. Similarly this trip should mean some £2000 will be due which hopefully will sit offsetting through May until next cc bill needs paying 11/12 June.

However we are rapidly approaching the date to pay the remaining costs for this year's holiday (>£3000) and we'll have to also get the cattery arranged and later the airport taxi too (£220 for this but it makes a lot of sense rather than being jet lagged and crashing on M25!).

Daughter needed some good footwear for the trip to Mexico and upcoming school week away, at £80 it indicates why we need to be clear of the mortgage so we can afford to "run" her :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Have paid in OH overtime payment plus some other cash to increase savings by additional £648 this month, plus £101 will go by direct debit too on 28 April (just two more I think then NatWest should give us £50 as per their offer last year :T ).

A quick catch up whilst in the airport in Houston....

Love blackjacks too and here I am stuck in the land of "candy"

Airmiles - traded them all in for 72 bottles of wine when Natwest dropped their relationship; never found the airmiles offers worthwhile.... presently evaluating NatWest Yourpoints, but may switch to a hotel credit card (Marriott) once MF.

Some good news, Starwood Preferred Guest not only credited the points but I racked up some additional offers so instead of some 2700 there are about 9400 on the account now! If I transfer these to Continental Airlines airmiles that's the same as a trans-Atlantic hop (if the miles convert).

Meanwhile heading to another Marriott hotel after being in one this week, so that will add on more points for Marriott (hope to then total enough to take family away for a free weekend in UK) plus of course all this business expense gives me NatWest points and as soon as home the expenses will offset/earn interest in my current account before paying the cc bill. :D

Also just checked current account and our net offset is about £3k positive, plus the Funds ISAs are also going positive still at about £7.9k now. Hoping this is all going to continue, just need to know what OH lung problem is so we can be sure to have insurance cover for the holiday in Mexico otherwise we'll have to cancel it.
Have a great weekend y'all
