Something not quite adding up
Just for info, may not help you but usefull anyway, I used to claim mileage for the use of my car for collecting supplies, attending exhibitons, courses etc. Probably only ever 1K miles/annum max. My insurer, Directline, told me that on this basis if the total annual mileage covered was under the figure I gave on the proposal, then there would be no extra charge. I received a new policy document to that effect. Nice for once;)I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -

See condition 4 in LandyAndy's link. Any one of those conditions failing means that it is not a pool carThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Ok.. I'm currently using a company Pool Car to travel from my home address to my place of work. I've been asked by the managers to cost up how much it would actually cost to start using my own car to travel to work.
From my home address to leeds = 60miles Return (30 each way)
If you are using a company supplied vehicle for private use, i.e. commuting from your workplace to home and back, this should be declared to HMRC and you will be taxed as it is a benefit in kind, your company should inform HMRC otherwise they are breaking the law, maybe this is why they want you to use your own vehicle.

Since around 1994/1995 Direct Line have never charged me or my wife extra for business use and we have never had to declare a business use mileage allowance.
It could be that Direct Line have changed the rules and because we have been long term existing customers we get the benefit of most of the terms and conditions that were in force when we first started doing business with them.0 -

Surely it is being stored at your home address if you drive home in it on a night ?0
